Sam Rogers

Sam is our very own local lad, born and raised in Otley, he has an extensive knowledge of the Wharfedale and surrounding areas. He was keen to join a local firm after working for a law firm in Leeds for seven years.

Sam qualified as a Solicitor with us at Newstead & Walker in 2025, having joined the firm in 2023 as Newstead & Walker’s first trainee Solicitor under the SRA’s new Solicitors Qualifying Examination route. Sam has wasted no time in integrating himself into the firm’s ethos and looking to expand on his extensive property and conveyancing knowledge and experience.

Sam obtained a history degree from the University of Lincoln, graduating in 2014 before entering the legal profession. Whilst working in Leeds, Sam took sabbaticals and spent intermittent periods of time living abroad in Thailand and travelling around East and Southeast Asia.

Sam is calm and approachable; he is always striving to achieve the best possible outcome for clients no matter how small the detail. Customer service and attention to detail have always been his most important attributes.

In his spare time, Sam enjoys a variety of sports including football, boxing and American football. He is a keen practitioner in Muay Thai (Thai kickboxing) and has retained his interest in reading history from his university days. He is also a keen collector of (and spends far too much money on) retro video games.
