Jo Thirsk

Jo is originally from South London and obtained a psychology degree from Southampton University but moved north as part of her legal training and decided she much preferred Yorkshire. She qualified as a Solicitor in 1997 and worked for some major legal practices in Leeds before moving to a long-standing firm in Harrogate where she became head of department and part of the management team. She then decided to broaden her horizons and worked for an existing client and their family business. The business was very successful and was sold to a major plc where Jo continued to work for the next few years in the food manufacturing side of the business. She then moved to work alongside a successful Harrogate based property developer to help in his mission to bring to life luxury residential development opportunities across the district.

Jo joins Newstead and Walker with over 15 years of experience in commercial property and with additional experience working for a major plc and a property entrepreneur. Jo’s varied experience means she inspires confidence in a broad range of clients across a variety of property matters.

Jo is married with two sons. She enjoys spending time with her family, baking, being outside with dogs and horses and keeping in touch with friends old and new.
