Angela Green

Born and raised in Cookridge, Leeds, Angela trained at a prominent law firm in Leeds and qualified as a solicitor and Accredited Family Specialist before gaining more experience in “all things family” in city centre practices.

She qualified in 1998 and brings a wealth of experience to the Family Department here at Newstead & Walker.

She was instrumental as a co-founder of a niche Family Department for one of the major top ranked Chambers and Legal 500 firms in Leeds with a national reputation for family law, adding her expertise and flair before moving to take on a new challenge.

Appointed as Head of Family for a successful North Yorkshire firm in 2015, Angela quickly demonstrated her key strengths and was appointed to the role of Director in 2017. She was an integral member of the company and grew the Family Department to one of the largest, successful family departments in Skipton, all the while adding value to the business as a whole with a steady steer on strategy and expansion of the practice as a whole.

A significant number of Angela’s cases involved technically complex matters, acting for high net worth professional clients often in senior roles in careers such as the police, teaching and NHS.  She also has a particular specialism in family matters involving farming cases and is well versed in helping families with assets in agricultural and rural land and assets tied up in family farms that have passed through the generations. Angela enjoys working on cases that involve business assets and companies and has acted for many high profile business and banking executives.

Angela also has a keen interest in the negotiation of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements as well as cohabitation agreements.

Angela is also able to advise on all matters relating to children.

Whilst both tenacious and results driven, Angela is friendly and able to assist and help family clients in both a calm and robust way. She understands the emotional issues involved and is both practical and down to earth. She combines legal expertise and empathy to ensure her clients trust her and know they are supported: she provides a Rolls Royce service, without the city centre price tag.

Angela lives locally after recently building her own home with her husband. She has two grown up children and in her leisure time she enjoys running, spin sessions, walking her dog Lily and spending time with friends and family.
